Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

TrueBlueStays respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected through our website, why it is used, who may receive it and how to contact us about your information. It describes our current website, including enquiries about our homes in Collingwood and the Blue Mountains, Ontario, Canada.

At a glance: you can browse our homes without creating an account. Sending a contact form saves an enquiry for our team; it does not confirm a reservation. Promotional messages are optional. Direct online payments and customer account registration are not currently enabled.

1. About this policy

In this policy, “TrueBlueStays”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business operating this website. This policy covers information handled through this website and related enquiry follow-up. Separate services you choose to visit, including external tourism websites and social networks, have their own privacy practices. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy requirements, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies.

2. Information we collect

Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry. Do not send card numbers, passwords, government identification numbers, health records or other sensitive documents through the general contact form. If you enquire on someone else’s behalf, make sure you are authorised to share their information.

3. How we use your information

The form uses automated validation, a spam-trap field and short-lived hashed identifiers to limit repeated requests and detect duplicate messages. These checks may reject a submission; they do not decide whether you are eligible to rent a home. If you have difficulty sending a genuine enquiry, use the other working contact details on our Contact Us page.

The contact form asks for permission to use your details to respond. Name, a valid email address, a message and the contact-consent checkbox are required to submit an enquiry. Phone number and home selection are optional. You can browse the website without submitting the form.

The separate news-and-offers checkbox is optional and is not preselected. Sending an enquiry, making a future booking or creating a future account does not by itself sign you up for our promotional mailing list. Our current website records this preference; an automated marketing campaign service is not currently connected.

If we send promotional electronic messages, they will identify the sender, provide appropriate contact details and include a way to unsubscribe. You can also withdraw marketing consent through our Contact Us form. We will honour withdrawal requests in accordance with applicable requirements. Withdrawing promotional consent does not prevent communications needed to respond to a request you made or deal with an existing service matter.

5. Cookies, storage and technical data

Our current configuration uses functional website technology rather than advertising tracking. The booking plugin may set a cookie named WP_SESSION_COOKIE to associate a browser with a temporary session. WordPress may also use browser session storage for display compatibility, such as remembering emoji-support checks. If an authorised user signs in, WordPress uses authentication cookies to keep that session working.

These tools support basic functions such as sessions, form handling and date searches. Browser settings let you delete or restrict cookies and storage, although doing so may affect these functions. We do not currently use third-party analytics services, advertising pixels or social-media tracking embeds in this configuration. Images and fonts used by the theme are served from this website. We will review this policy and any required consent controls before introducing non-essential tracking.

6. Sharing and service providers

Contact enquiries are available to authorised website administrators for the purposes described above. Service providers supplying hosting, technical support, security, backups or email delivery may process information necessary to provide those services when they are used. If enquiry notifications are enabled, the notification may contain an internal request reference and an admin link; the enquiry remains stored even if notification delivery fails.

We do not sell personal information or share enquiry details with unrelated organisations for their own marketing. We may disclose information when required or permitted by law, to respond to a valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, investigate fraud or address a safety or security issue. We seek to limit disclosure to what is needed for the relevant purpose.

7. Storage and cross-border processing

Enquiries and follow-up information are stored in the WordPress database used to operate this website. Technical information may also be held in infrastructure logs and, where backups are made, backup copies. The current local preview stores information on its local website instance.

For a hosted deployment, storage and processing locations depend on the hosting, email and other providers actually selected. Providers or their support teams may process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws and lawful access by courts or authorities. We remain responsible for personal information handled on our behalf and consider appropriate protections when using service providers. Contact us for information about the providers and locations in use; this policy does not make a Canada-only data-residency promise.

8. How long information is kept

Enquiries and follow-up records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to answer the enquiry, provide requested services, resolve related issues and satisfy applicable legal requirements. Consent and withdrawal records may need to be kept to demonstrate and honour your choices. We limit retention to these purposes and remove or anonymise information when it is no longer required, subject to applicable obligations.

Short-lived anti-abuse and duplicate-detection records expire for operational use after their configured time limits. Other enquiry records are managed by our team; the current website does not automatically delete all enquiries after a fixed number of days. Where information is also present in backups, removing it from active records may not immediately remove every backup copy. Contact us about a specific deletion or retention request so we can explain any applicable limits.

9. Protecting your information

Contact records are not published as public website content and are restricted to authorised administration access. The website validates submitted fields and uses form-security and basic anti-spam checks. Appropriate access controls and operational safeguards are important to protecting the information held in the website and its supporting systems.

No transmission or storage method can provide absolute security. Avoid including sensitive information in a general enquiry. If we become aware of a privacy or security incident affecting personal information, we will assess it and take steps, including notification where required by applicable law.

10. Access, correction and privacy requests

Subject to applicable law, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, how it is used or disclosed, and request access or correction. You may also ask us to delete information that is no longer needed, withdraw consent for optional uses, or raise a concern about how your information has been handled.

Use our Contact Us form and identify your message as a privacy request. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and locate your records. Do not attach identification documents to the initial message. We will respond within applicable legal timeframes and explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil all or part of a request, such as a required retention period or another person’s privacy. Deleting information or withdrawing consent may limit our ability to continue handling the enquiry or service you requested.

11. Bookings, accounts and payments

The current website accepts enquiries and provides a date-search preview. Sending an enquiry does not create a customer account, reserve a home or confirm a booking. Direct card payments, Stripe checkout and public customer account registration are not currently enabled, and the contact form does not request payment-card details.

If direct bookings, payment processing or customer accounts are introduced, we will explain the additional information and providers involved, update this policy and obtain any consent required before using information for a new purpose. A payment provider may collect card and transaction details under its own privacy terms. Do not send payment details to us through the enquiry form.

12. Children’s information

This website is intended for people planning accommodation enquiries and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly invite children to submit personal information directly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information inappropriately, contact us so we can review and address it.

13. External websites

Our pages may link to tourism operators, social networks or other independent websites. Following a link takes you to a service we do not operate. That service may collect technical information or set cookies under its own terms. External links do not mean those services automatically receive the enquiry you submit to us; review their privacy notices before providing information there.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, providers or practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Where a change materially affects the purposes for which your personal information is used, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain further consent when required. A policy update does not automatically authorise an unrelated new use of previously collected information.
